A 17 year old girl's life was literally turned upside down on her 3rd day of college when she was hit by a truck as a passenger in her sister's car. The massive accident resulted in our immediate involvement and action. Our prompt investigation, within 30 days of the occurance, uncovered witnesses and physical evidence overlooked by the police department. Due to our rapid response and aggresive representation multiple insurance companies tendered their policy limits well in excess of $1,000,000.00.

In October 2007, Thomas & Pearl, P.A. obtained a jury verdict at trial in excess of 4.3 million dollars resulting from our client falling as a result of negligence. Prior to trial, the defendant offered $00.

Thomas and Pearl, P.A. sued an apartment complex for negligent security as a result of a minor child being injured by an unknown criminal assailant. The apartment complex denied any responsibility as the criminal assailant was unknown and never apprehended. In litigation and after a Mediation Conference a $ 500,000 settlement was achieved.

In July 2008, Thomas and Pearl, P.A. successfully achieved a $400,000 settlement for a 42 year old landscaper who sustained a fractured leg as the result of an automobile accident and has since resumed his employment.

Our client, a young woman, was stung by a wasp while shopping in a K-Mart Garden Department. A law suit was filed against K-Mart who denied any responsibility based on their assertion that they did not control or own a wandering wasp. Thomas & Pearl, P.A. retained an expert entomologist to establish how long the wasp was at the K-Mart based upon the size of its nest, establishing K-Mart’s failure to inspect/correct dangers in the plants on display to unsuspecting potential customers. K-Mart offered $ 1,500 to settle this case prior to trial, which was rejected by Thomas & Pearl, P.A. and resulted in a jury verdict of $ 250,000 which K-Mart paid.

v Plaintiff/Client, a 42 year old employee, was pushed by a co-worker resulting in injuries to her neck. Thomas & Pearl, P.A. successfully achieved a substantial Workers Compensation settlement and then in a novel and unusual approach made a claim against the co-employee’s homeowners insurance carrier and the agency employing the co-worker resulting in a law suit settlement of $ 70,000. There was no offer of settlement prior to the law suit being filed as the defendant claimed immunity from a law suit under Workers Compensation.

Thomas & Pearl, P.A. has recently received a verdict of $ 90,000 in a trial involving a dog bite injury. The offer to settle prior to trial by the Defendant was $00.

Thomas & Pearl, P.A. has recently received a verdict in excess of $100,000 as a result of a shopping cart striking a retired senior citizen at a local grocery store.

In July 2008, Thomas and Pearl. P.A. successfully settled the claim of a 58 year old married man who currently is active and employed after sustaining a back injury in an automobile accident. The case was settled for a the total available insurance policy limits of $125,000 in spite of the police report indicating minor property damage of $400 to his vehicle.
